- Property Status - October 2005 - Developer blasts on beach without prior approval from the State of Alaska. Blasting was not included with developers dock plan. Blasting was conducted during a high tide. State tidelands are a valuable resource of habitat for migrating salmon and many other aquatic species. Tidelands are PUBLIC lands.
September 2005 - State of Alaska Office of Coastal Management closed consistency review for proposed 100 foot pier, 1200 square foot dock and 150 foot breakwater project. Not one property owner in Loring Alaska was adequately notified of these major waterfront development plans. No public input in final approval.
August 2005 - To many a disappointment; Private Developer from Corvallis OR, closed on the 64 acre parcel in Loring. Before the ink was even dry, developer chopped down second old growth trees just above the shoreline. Purely a symbolic statment, no dock or building plan had been approved yet.
